Geopolitics and Security in Asia

The objective of our workshop is to examine the current state of world affairs, with a specific emphasis on the Indo-Pacific region. This region spans from the Eastern coasts of Africa to the Western coasts of the United States. The lectures will primarily address the competition between major powers (namely the US and China), the significance of the BRICS, arms race, and the multilayer conflicts and crises in the region. These include disputes over the islands in the South China Sea, the Taiwan issue, and geopolitics of strategic naval chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz and Bab al Mandeb.
