IT Evolution - The evolution of information technology

The permanent exhibition at the John von Neumann Faculty of Informatics of Óbuda University presents the ever-accelerating development of IT with the help of thousands of objects. The collection illustrates the important milestones and evolution of four areas of information technology: calculators and computers, data storage, the defining elements of electronics, and electronic telecommunication. Visitors can also get to know interesting stories related to the displayed objects. To whom do we recommend the program? From 10 to 100 years old, for everyone who is interested in IT or wants to see the enormous development of information technology in its process. We recommend it to primary and secondary school students because here they can get to know the objects mentioned in their lessons and marvel at the beautiful and intuitive tools from their history lessons. We also recommend it to the older generations because they can recognize the tools and devices with which they often spent much time in the past. It can be especially instructive for younger and older family members to come to the exhibition together, because the younger ones can be introduced to the memories of their parents and grandparents related to ICT; at the same time older visitors can experience the often interesting reactions of the young people.
