Looking at the shapes of muscles using ultrasound

One innovative way of controlling prosthetic limbs is by using ultrasound. Instead of decoding the electrical signals generated by the muscles during their contractions why not observe the contraction directly. In this workshop we will discuss the advantages, disadvantages and the current state of ultrasound based prosthetic control and afterwards we can have a quick practical session using real ultrasound to measure muscle deformation.
