Molecules under a microscope
The program covers the study of biological macromolecules, participants can create protein models from paper.
Even biological macromolecules are too small to be seen in a conventional (light) microscope. However, fluorescence labeling can be used to track them, allowing various studies to be carried out, in particular on the distribution of molecules. In our laboratory, we use fluorescence microscopy techniques to study the size distribution of complexes formed by interacting protein molecules. The program will demonstrate how this is performed and the microscopes that can be used.
